ACTIVITIES

BS14-CURTAS-XS
CURTAS EM FLAGRANTE

In the afternoons, the Festival hosts sessions of short films programmed by Curtas em Flagrante. Currently on its 6th edition, in 2014 this travelling showcase of Portuguese short films has extended its programme to include works from other countries that have Portuguese as their official language. Curtas em Flagrante is thus presenting this year’s best work from the Portuguese speaking creative community.

BS14-OCURRAL-XS
THE PEN

In collaboration with AEPGA, the association for the study and protection of asses, mules and hinnies, several activities will take place centered on the Miranda donkeys. Festival goers will have a chance to familiarize themselves and interact with these friendly animals.

Every day, two activities will take place: Donkey class – an educational activity concerning the characteristics and importance of this breed; Donkey rides, where specialist guides will describe the fauna and rural flora of Cem Soldos

This initiative aims at raising awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity and indigenous breeds, as well as affording the opportunity to leisurely explore Cem Soldos and its surroundings.

BS14-PALCOACUSTICO-XS
PALCO ACÚSTICO

Here, anyone can show their talent. You just have to sign up daily. BONS SONS lends the stage to solo acts or bands, as well as the technical means, allowing unknowns to perform for a considerable number of people. This stage is a unique opportunity for newcomers to test their projects in front of an audience and agents, but, above all, it’s a way to celebrate music in a happy and relaxed environment.

At Palco Acústico music is for everyone, and it might just be you up on that stage.

BS14-ARTESVISUAIS-XS
VISUAL ARTS

Ever since its first edition, the Festival has widened the range of activities to encompass the contemporary visual arts, contributing to the value of the musical programme with other creative balms. Different guest artists have been invited to exhibit their work along the lines of the fine arts, product and graphic design or architecture.

The exhibition centre “Armazém” (Warehouse) was an old warehouse of the Mendes Godinho family, used for cereal grain drying. It has been recently adapted to host the works of art that demand a quiet and fresh environment.

In this edition of the Festival tradition still holds by innovation. The visual arts will be represented, this year, with creations on photography, illustration, performance and installation.

MÚSICA PARA CRIANÇAS

The Festival mornings have the young ones to care of with special programming dedicated to them. “Music for babies” will bring together parents and children to learn more about music. “Waste (Dis)Concert” will let you discover that music can come out of the most uncanny objects. This programme, where music is the platform for new experiences, is brought to you by the Canto Firme Association (Tomar).

Music for Babies
This is a special programme dedicated to children aged until 5 and their parents

Waste (Dis)Concert
Also open to adults, the “Waste (Dis)Concert” will show you how music can come out of the most uncanny objects.

BS14-PREMIOSMEGAFONE-XS
MEGAFONE AWARDS NIGHT

In a first time partnership with Associação Megafone 5, BONS SONS Festival hosts the 2nd edition of the Megafone Awards. Distinguishing musicians or institutions that have made a contribution to the present and future of Portuguese musical traditions, the awards are scheduled to take place on August 14. Performing this evening will be street theatre collective Artelier, the three nominees to the Megafone Música Award and the winners of the 2010 edition – Galandum Galundaina.

Wrapping up the evening’s festivities, DJ Megafone (Luís Varatojo+Ricardo Alexandre) will take to the Aguardela stage.

Megafone 5 is a non-profit project that aims to celebrate, pay tribute and disseminate the work and ideas of Portuguese musician João Aguardela. Associação Megafone 5 strives to give stimulus and visibility to those dedicated to the promotion of Portuguese musical tradition. Chief among this association’s work is organizing the annual Megafone Awards.

BS14-IDENTIDADES-XS
IDENTIDADES

BS14-QUEMMANDA-XS
QUEM MANDA AQUI SOU EU!

‘Quem manda aqui sou eu!’
