Mazgani is an Iranian musician based in Portugal. In 2005, he was considered by the magazine “Les Inrockuptibles” one of the best 20 new European artists, even before the release of his first album. The song “Somewhere Beneath This Sky” from its debut album won the third prize of the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, where the jury was composed by Tom Waits and Robert Smith. In 2009, he edited the EP “Tell the People”, produced with Pedro Gonçalves (Dead Combo), followed by “Song of Distance” (2010). At the end of 2017, he released the album “The Poet’s Death”, with direct entry to the 13th place in the Portuguese Music Charts.
